Uploading a File to the Media Library #
- Click: Add Media File

- Wait for the upload to complete
Copying a File Link #
- Click on the uploaded file to open its details
- Copy the File URL (usually found under “Attachment details” or “File URL” on the right-hand panel)
- Remove the domain name from the copied URL, keeping only the relative path (e.g., use /wp-content/uploads/2026/08/job-opportunities-07232026.pdf instead of https://carbondigital.biz/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/job-opportunities-07232026.pdf)
- Click: Close or navigate away once you’ve copied the URL
Deleting a File from the Media Library #
- Locate the file you want to remove:
- List View – Hover over the file’s row, then click Delete Permanently
- Grid View – Click on the file to open its details, then click Delete Permanently on the right-hand panel
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
⚠️ Warning: Once you confirm the deletion, the file cannot be retrieved. If the file is linked anywhere on your site (e.g., in a table cell or downloadable file field), those links will break.
Bulk Deleting Files from the Media Library #
- Open the left sidebar menu
- Navigate to: Media
- Switch to List View (bulk actions are only available in this view)
- Check the box next to each file you want to remove (or check the top box to select all)
- From the Bulk actions dropdown, select Delete Permanently
- Click: Apply
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
Important Notes #
- Using the relative path instead of the full URL makes it easier to migrate content if the domain changes in the future, since the links won’t need to be updated.
